Birth, death certificates

TIRUCHI: : The Corporation has issued 2,198 birth and death certificates under the computerised system in May, according to the Commissioner, Harmander Singh.

These included 384 certificates in Srirangam zone, 150 in Ariyamangalam, 459 in Golden Rock and 1,295 in K.Abishekapuram.

Birth and death certificates would be issued at all service centres of the zonal offices of the Corporation besides the Corporation Main Office, Mr. Singh said in a release.

The certificates would be issued the next day of submission of application with respect to current birth and deaths. The certificates would be issued within a day from payment of the required fee for births and deaths registered prior to 1996, the release added.

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply in the following areas from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on June 23, owing to maintenance work at the Kambarasampettai sub-station, according to a Tamil Nadu Electricity Board release issued here on Tuesday:

NSB Road, St. Joseph's College road, Chathram Bus Stand, Ammamandapam, Tiruvanaikovil, Geethapuram, Jeeyapuram and Alloor.

Mettur level

The level in the Mettur dam stood at 53.29 feet on Tuesday. The inflow was 590 cusecs and the discharge 900 cusecs. — Staff Reporter.
