KOCHI: The call given by the District Autorickshaw Drivers Association (CITU) to observe a day's strike in protest against the hike in fuel prices was mostly confined to Tripunithura and nearby areas. The other drivers will participate in the strike call given on Wednesday. The association also demanded that the auto driver who charged Rs. 1,000 from a foreigner for taking her from the railway station to Fort Kochi be arrested. Secretary V.V. Praveen said that the autorickshaw was plying with a fake registration number. The driver had earlier been involved in a case in which he said that the auto belonged to the City Police Commissioner, he said.
