BANGALORE: The Indian Air Force (IAF) Flying Officer Anjali Gupta's civilian defence counsel (advocate), H.B. Mishra, on Tuesday requested the general court martial jury three days to study documents, including three summaries of evidences, for preparing the defence. Mr. Mishra told the jury that the three summaries of evidences (containing statements of accused and witnesses) related to three chargesheets, which were served prior to issuing the fourth chargesheet, have to be studied. It was on seven charges mentioned in the fourth chargesheet that Ms. Gupta was arraigned. Mr. Mishra said the seven charges have relation to the summaries of evidences presented earlier and formed part of evidence. convening the general court martial given to her mentions "summaries of evidence." The prosecutor, Wg. Cdr. R.K. Dubey, should make the IAF administration provide him copies of the three summaries of evidences, Mr. Mishra added. The issue came up following Gp. Capt. R. Vijay Kumar, Ms. Gupta's defending officer, handing over documents related to the general court martial to Mr. Mishra. Soon after receiving the documents, along with Gp. Capt. Kumar's handing over certificate, Mr. Mishra said he has not received any summaries of evidence. The prosecutor, Wg. Cdr. Dubey, has sought time till Wednesday.
