Ex CPWD employee held
CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch police arrested a former CPWD employee, who gave false promises of employment to 40 persons after collecting money from them. According to police, Kovai Thangavelu (58), allegedly collected Rs. 25.85 lakhs from these persons after promising them jobs in the CPWD. The money was given to him about a year ago but Mr.Thangavelu did not keep his promise. Following this the victims filed a complaint with the police. However, Thangavelu evaded police arrest for about a year. The police managed to trace him and he was arrested on Wednesday. Further investigation is on.
