No need for VIPs to use bus, says Union Minister
Staff Reporter
JAMMU:
Union Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal gave a new turn to the controversy about a Pakistan Minister's proposal to visit Kashmir by the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus when he said that the trans-Line of Control bus was meant for common people on both sides.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Jaiswal said, "I do not think any Pakistani Minister should come by the bus. There is no purpose for a VIP to come by bus. "
On the travel of Hurriyat leaders to Pakistan, he said, "We have already protested to Pakistan as to how they were allowed to go beyond Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Under the agreement , the passengers could travel till the boundaries of the State."
Mr. Jaiswal expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra.
