Police, naxals exchange fire

KHAMMAM: The was an exchange of fire between the police special parties and naxalites of the CPI (ML Prajapratightana) on the outskirts of Venkatapuram village near Nagulammagutta in Gundala mandal on Thursday. The dalam managed to escape after abandoning one DBBL gun three 8 mm rifles and 23 kitbags. The police stepped up combing in the area. No casualties were reported.
