NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday said education and health of women were two issues which need to be addressed urgently and expressed grave concern at the state of the girl child who even in urban areas face acute malnutrition.

Noting that the dream of Rajiv Gandhi to provide 33 per cent reservation to women in local governance had proved to be a grand success, she said within a short span of time women had proved their mettle and achieved the targets much more successfully than men. The Chief Minister also expressed concern at incidents of female foeticide and rape and urged the Mahila Congress cadres to initiate a nationwide campaign against these appalling crimes.
