HYDERABAD:
The Assistant Secretary of the State unit of CPI, K. Narayana, has returned from a 10-day tour of China said he was impressed by the giant strides made by the neighbouring country.
He was part of a five-member CPI delegation led by its general secretary, A.B. Bardhan, which undertook the tour at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The team visited Beijing, Changchun and Dalian.
They met W.U. Guandhen, member, Standing Council of the Polit Bureau of CPC. Narrating his experience, Mr. Narayana said the Chinese have passed the stage of meeting their basic needs.
They concentrated on increasing productivity and expanding into allied industries for surplus production.
Political stability
He said the single party system had ensured political stability in China. The Chinese Government looked forward to cementing its relations with India so that the two countries could counter the imperialist tendencies of the United States together, he stated.
