HYDERABAD: Two persons were arrested and a case was booked against the licensee of a wine shop and the landowner by the Prohibition and Excise Department after its task force conducted a raid on an illegal bar in Chikkadpally on Wednesday.

Following a complaint received from local residents, the Director of Enforcement, V.K. Singh, sent a task force team led by Mohd. Nizamuddin, DSP, to the area. They found that an illegal bar was functioning from the premises of a former toddy depot without license and causing inconvenience to the residents.

The licensee of the wine shop, Sri Sai Wines, K. Sahadev Goud, and B. Ashok, were arrested for supplying liquor and running an illegal bar. A case was also booked against the depot owner, Balraj Goud.
