Japanese hostel set up

CHANDIGARH: A Japanese hostel - cum-restaurant complex has been set up over an area of three acres at a cost of Rs. 20 crores in Gurgaon, according to the official spokesman of the Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC).

He said here on Saturday that this centrally air-conditioned complex has 100 per cent power back-up. Located adjacent to the Management Development Institute (MDI) in Gurgaon, it has 27 double occupancy suites, 40 single occupancy rooms, a restaurant and bar, a gymnasium with swimming pool, conference and banquet halls and business centre.

The HSIDC has invited bids to lease out this complex on `as is where is' basis initially for 15 years which would be renewed at a rate of 25 per cent after five years. The day-to-day maintenance would be the responsibility of the successful bidder.

Preference would be given to those companies and agencies which were already conversant with management of hotel or hostel catering to Japanese food, culture and lifestyle, he added.
