LUCKNOW: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati would perhaps become the first person in the country to be provided with women commandos for personal security. Six women commandos of the elite National Security Guard (NSG) were already getting trained at the Manesar (Haryana) academy, highly placed sources told UNI. These short-listed security personnel, which the sources claimed were drawn from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), were being given further training. These would be in addition to 25 NSG guards protecting the BSP president round the clock. BSP president and three time UP Chief Minister is among handful of the politicians across the country to get `Z-plus security.' Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is another woman politician to enjoy the NSG cover. To start with, these women commandos would be deployed at the Humayun Road (New Delhi) residence of Mayawati. Spokesperson of Director General of UP Police Yash Pal Singh confirmed to UNI here the proposal was indeed under consideration at the NSG level and the central government. The spokesperson, however, could not confirm whether a similar group would also be inducted for the security of Ms J Jayalalithaa. The Central government provides `Z Plus' security to seven other people in the state. The protection list is constantly reviewed by the Union Home Ministry and Intelligence Bureau (IB). Besides Mayawati, the `Z Plus' security cover is given to UP Governor T V Rajeswar, CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, former CMs Rajnath Singh and Kalyan Singh. - UNI
