Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over north interior Karnataka and active over Telangana. Rainfall occurred at most places over Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal and north interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in Centimetres:

Londa (Belgaum dt.) and Linganamakki (Shimoga dt.) 15 each, Siddapura (Uttara Kannada dt.) and Khanapura (Belgaum dt.) 10 each, Agumbe and Talaguppa (Shimoga dt.) 8 each and Sirsi (Uttara Kannada dt.), Kalghatgi (Dharwad dt.) and Mudigere (Chickmagalur dt.) 7 each.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh ,Telangana coastal and north interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnakata and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Rayalaseema.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 48 hours.

Outlook For Subsequent Two days: No significant change.
