Consumer activist dead
NEW DELHI:
Consumer rights activist H.D. Shourie, who fought many a legal battle to earn consumers their rights, died here on Tuesday. He was 93.
Mr. Shourie, the father of the former Union Minister and veteran journalist, Arun Shourie, had been ailing for sometime. He died at 10:30 a.m., his family and friends said. A Padma Bhushan awardee, Mr. Shourie was the Director of the consumer rights forum `Common Cause' and founder of the Consumer Coordination Council (CCC). UNI
