THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kochi will be the venue of the last match of the Harlem Globetrotters' tour of India. The match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium on September 27. Giving details of the tour at a press conference here on Tuesday, the country head of Sportzindia Management, R. Anil Kumar, said the company would be staging about 40 games in the country featuring the famed American club during the next four years. The availability of good infrastructure and popular support, which are crucial in the exhibition and enjoyment of the amazing ball handling skills of the Trotters', would be the deciding factor. The build up to the Kerala leg of the tour would include several activities to tap the basketball activity at the school level. Promotional contests focussing on a select group of basketball-promoting schools from the 30-40 such institutions in the Kochi region would be one such activity. The school programme across the five centres would involve the participation of more than a lakh of school children in the first tour itself. Special Correspondent
