NEW DELHI: Demanding that immediate action be taken against all police personnel involved in the recent Dadri railway station incident, the People's Union for Democratic Rights has stated that accounts of eyewitnesses contradict the official story. A report by a PUDR fact-finding team pointing out loopholes in the official version has condemned ``unprovoked'' firing by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). According to the report, contrary to the official story, Sanjay, a daily passenger, was pulled out when trying to board a train from Aligarh to Delhi. He was beaten up and kicked during ticket checking as a result of which he fainted. Seeing him being dragged away by the RPF personnel, some passengers from the next train coming in from Dankaur thought he was dead and got agitated. Eyewitness accounts recorded in the report state that passengers started hurling stones. However, contradicting the official story, they claim that none of the passengers was responsible for the firing. Instead, they revealed that the RPF fired without warning for half an hour from the footbridge connecting Platforms 2 and 3.
