LUCKNOW: The South-West Monsoon has finally cast its spell across Uttar Pradesh, with a large part of the state including the Capital city, receiving moderate to heavy showers during the last 24 hours. Lucknow received its first true monsoon showers on Monday evening bringing much needed respite from the humid conditions of the last few days, State weather office told UNI here. The State Capital witnessed 22.3 mm rain, Hardoi 46 mm, Varanasi 14.4 mm, Allahabad 27 mm, Fatehgarh 14 mm, Baharaich 5.8 mm and Kanpur 5 mm. The weatherman has forecast rain or thunder showers in all parts of the State during the next 48 hours, with the warning of heavy rain at isolated places in Western Uttar Pradesh.
