Minister Naik warns of action against erring ITDA officials

Adilabad MLA complains against negligent attitude of staff

  • Vacant teacher posts cannot be filled immediately, says Naik

    UTNOOR (ADILABAD DT.): The Social Welfare Minister and Adilabad district in charge, D. S. Redya Naik, on Tuesday warned the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) officials of stringent action for laxity in discharging duties.

    He instructed the in charge Project Officer, ITDA and Joint Collector, A. Dinakar Babu, to initiate action against officials found wanting in this regard. The Adilabad MLA, C. Ramchander Reddy, apprised the Minister during the ITDA, Utnoor governing body meeting about the negligent attitude of officials towards developmental activity. He charged that the Assistant Project Officers (APOs) and Sectoral Officers were never available at their respective place of work.

    A ZPTC member wanted all schemes generating at the ITDA to be put before the concerned gram sabhas. Responding to the demand, Mr. Redya Naik gave instructions for not only placing the schemes before the gram sabhas, but for identification and selection of beneficiaries. With regard to filling up of vacant teacher posts in tribal schools, the Minister said as the posts cannot be filled up immediately, Vidya volunteers would be appointed wherever required.

    A meeting of representatives of 26 tribal organisations in Adilabad district will be held at Utnoor mandal headquarter on July 2 in connection with their demand for pattas to forestland. The meeting will chalk out a plan of action for pressuring the Union Government to place a Bill in the Lok Sabha on their demand.
