They are in a spot now

Dozens of students in the College of Engineering, Guindy, are in a spot now. These young men and women comprise a small group that has entered the fourth year of B.E/B.Tech courses now, but are yet to clear a few subjects in the earlier semesters.

They have re-written the examinations in April-May but are still awaiting the publication of the results, at least for one or two `arrear' papers.

The professors concerned, who need to provide their input to finalise the grades and marks are apparently still working out individual student details. But then, the concern of the students is that while their colleagues are walking away with job offers from all the companies that come in for campus recruitment, they remain stranded.

But then, whether the campus recruiters would consider a candidate with `arrears' is a moot point.
