IN VIEW of the Prime Minister's visit to the city on July 2 to inaugurate work on the Sethusamudram Channel project, the area in and around Pandi Temple is being given a facelift. Road laying work on Ring Road, where the function is scheduled, is in full swing causing commuters a little hardship. For the past two days, road users were forced to spend a few minutes more than they usually take to cover the stretch because of the road laying work. A devotee to the temple was heard saying: "I wish the Prime Minister visited our area also, so that the authorities would relay the dilapidated roads."
