MANGALORE: The Sri Samsthan Gokarna Parthagali Jeevotham Mutt has taken up a project to construct a community hall and Gowd Saraswath Brahmin women's hostel behind the mutt premises at Ratha Beedhi here. Vidyadhiraj Tirtha Sripad Vader Swamiji of the mutt will lay the foundation stone for the Poorna Prajna Sabha Graha and GSB Working Women's Hostel at the mutt here on Thursday. S. Prabhakar Kamath, president of the building construction committee of the mutt, told presspersons here on Tuesday that the Gokaran Mutt established here in 1660 is the ninth mutt of Parthagali Jeevotham Mutt. The mutt here was renovated along with Dwarakanath Bhavan in 1991. The decision to construct a new hall has been taken keeping in mind the needs of the community.
