GUNTUR: Srinivasa Rao, 32, allegedly killed his wife Akula Phani Kumari, 28, in the city in front of her parents and neighbours on Tuesday morning. The accused is absconding and the police have launched a search for him, the Circle Inspector of Police (West), J. Bhaskara Rao, said. The accused allegedly hit his wife at 10 a.m. with a wooden pestle resulting in her instant death. The police registered a case on a complaint from the victim's father, who was an eye-witness. Married for eight years, the couple has two children. Srinivasa Rao used to quarrel with Akula frequently and she had left for parents' house in Srinivasarao Thota a fortnight ago. She refused to heed his repeated requests to return home. Srinivasa Rao allegedly used to abuse her for developing illicit relation with another person.
