KOZHIKODE: Geetha S. Pillai, scientist-in-charge of the tissue culture facility of the Centre for Medicinal Plants Research, Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal, has won the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Award for P.G. Agricultural Research (Horticulture), instituted by the Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR), for the year 2004. The award has been given for her thesis titled `In vitro technology for genetic conservation of some genera of Zingiberaceae.' The award will be presented to her at the National Agriculture Science Complex in New Delhi on July 16, it was announced here on Wednesday.
