NAMAKKAL: The Komarapalayam Municipality will remove all encroachments at the bus stand soon, said Municipal Commissioner V. Varadaraj. Responding to a councillor's question at the municipal council meeting here on Wednesday, the commissioner said the officials had already removed meat stalls from the bus stand recently.
Electoral rolls
Pavement vendors who were causing difficulty to passengers would also be evicted from the place. As the officials were involved in the preparation of electoral rolls, an immediate action was not possible, he added.
Crematorium not clean
The councillors complained that the crematorium, which was privatised by the municipality, in the town was not clean and demanded action against the firm. They also pointed out that many shops constructed in the market remained closed for months together due to high rent fixed by the civic authority. As many as 68 resolutions were passed at the meeting. The Municipal Chairman Jegannathan presided.
