Letters to the Editor
The Left parties' decision to suspend participation in Coordination Committee meetings with the United Progressive Alliance is the right one. It was not necessary for the Government to offload equity in BHEL. Instead, it should concentrate on vital issues such as agriculture, rural development, health, land reforms, education, and empowerment of women. The National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP) should be strictly adhered to.
Jose Charles,
It is time the Left parties allow the UPA Government to do its most important job governing the nation without their constant interference.
P.R. Thiruvengadam,
The latest decision of the Left parties appears to have been taken with an eye on next year's Assembly elections in West Bengal and Kerala.
K.R.P. Gupta,
It is incumbent upon all parties in an alliance to display a sense of mutual trust, understanding, maturity and a commitment to ensure that the Government completes its term without any major skirmishes. Unfortunately, neither the Congress nor the Left parties have shown that they possess any of these qualities.
V. Rajesh,
