Letters to the Editor
This refers to the article, `Reforming and strengthening the United Nations' (June 25). U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan has highlighted the common global problems. The reform of the U.N. is imperative, but the world body must increasingly focus on problems such as hunger, drought and debilitating disease. There is no point campaigning for the expansion of the Security Council as the G-4 nations are doing. Such ambitions with support from some and opposition from others will divide and delay implementation of vital projects.
