GUNTUR: Andhra Bank, the lead bank in Guntur district, will inaugurate a vocational training institute, which will benefit rural unemployed youth to set up their own businesses, said the Lead Bank District Manager, Syed Rasool. Mr Rasool told reporters here on Wednesday that the `Andhra Bank Institute of Rural Development' at Guntur was the seventh such institute set up by the AB Rural Development Trust in the country. The aim of the institute was to identify, orient and train youth in various trades like hand embroidery and fabric painting, tailoring and dress making, two-wheeler mechanism both for women and men. The institute pays charges to the selected candidates to travel from their village to the institute, apart from providing free board and lodging facilities. After the successful completion of the course, the names of the candidates would be referred to the nearest Andhra Bank branch for financial assistance. Applications were invited from candidates aged between 18 and 35 years from Guntur and Prakasam districts for admissions to the courses, which begin on July 10. The applications could be had from the institute office, situated behind Gowri Shankar Theatre in Kothapet, or on phone number 0863- 2336912.
