TIRUPATI: A truck with 300 gas cylinders capsized on the first Tirumala ghat road on Wednesday. Fortunately, the cylinders were empty and were being ferried down to Tirupati for refilling when the accident occurred. According to the Tirumala traffic police, while negotiating a curve at the 32nd turning, the driver, N. Krishna, 34, lost control of the vehicle, hit the railing and parapet wall, resulting in the truck plunging 10 feet into the valley.
Minor injuries
Along with the driver, its cleaner K. Nageshwar, 20, and another person, Madan Mohan, 15, had a miraculous escape from the jaws of death, sustaining minor injuries in the process.
