SHIMOGA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers staged a "rasta roko" at Ameer Ahmed Circle here on Wednesday to protest against the increase in petrol and diesel prices. K.S. Eshwarappa, Shimoga MLA, and S.N. Channabasappa, BJP city unit president, led the agitation. They condemned the increase in fuel prices and said it is bound to affect the common man. They urged the Centre to roll back the prices. Petrol stations worked normally despite the BJP's claim that they had agreed to suspend operations for three hours from 10 a.m.
