High Court defers teachers' promotions

HYDERABAD:
A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court declared that transfers and promotions of teachers in Government schools and those run by local bodies should not be given effect for a period of two weeks.
The Bench, comprising Justice A. Chalameshwar and Justice M. Venkateswara Reddy, was dealing with a writ petition filed by S. Harinath and others challenging the ordinance issued by State Government, formulating a common cadre for teachers throughout the State.
