CHENNAI: If you are a handloom and crafts junkie and frequent the various exhibitions held through the year, then chances are that you would've come across the products on offer at the All- India Handicrafts and Handloom Exhibition. But the good thing about this one is that they have a really wide selection of each of their products.

Case in point is the jewellery. There are strings of garnets, opal, turquoise and onyx set in silver at the Jaipur stalls, lac bangles from Rajasthan, silver dipped in gold and even wooden Etikoppakka bangles coloured with vegetable dyes.

The handlooms include the usual dress material of Oriya cottons, some light, airy Maheswari cottons, skirts and sarees. The prices start from Rs. 150 here.

Handlooms are sold at a 20 per cent discount and handicrafts at 10 per cent.

The idea behind the exhibition organised by Kapoor Collections is to give exposure to the 90 artisans participating from the different States.

It is also to familiarise the spending public with handicrafts so go ahead and ask the artisans questions.

The other things available are the figurines, the leather and wooden products among others. The exhibition is on from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. till July 6.
