KARIMNAGAR: The State Government had taken up rural roads at a cost of Rs. 1,500 crore this financial year, said the Minister for Panchayat Raj, J.C Diwakar Reddy, here at Jagtial Assembly segment on Wednesday. Participating in various developmental programmes in Jagtial division along with the Minister for Sports and Culture, M. Satyanarayana Rao, the Government Whip, D. Sridhar, the ZP chairman, K.V. Rajeshwara Rao, the Jagtial legislator, T. Jeevan Reddy and others, Mr Diwakar Reddy said they had allocated Rs. 46 crores to Karimnagar district for the development of rural roads. The Minister called upon the officials and public representatives to ensure that quality was maintained while laying new roads. He also said that they were taking up various drinking water schemes at a cost of Rs. 6,000 crores in the State.
