ADILABAD: The Social Welfare Minister and Adilabad district in-charge, D.S. Redya Naik, on Wednesday instructed the Collector, R. Subba Rao, to conduct an enquiry into the irregularities in drought relief works. He also instructed the Collector not to relieve the transferred Zilla Parishad chief executive officer (CEO), S. Rajaiah, unless the matter was inquired into and suitable action taken. The orders came at the District Review Committee meeting, after the MLAs levelled allegations of corruption against the CEO. The MLA, Soyam Bapu Rao, even went to the extent of alleging that Mr. Rajaiah cornered a 10 per cent commission for awarding works under the National Food for Work (NFFW) programme. Following the allegations, the in-charge Minister called for a detailed inquiry.
