Accused in Sakhi killing escapes, caught
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Mohd. Salauddin, 24, who was arrested in connection with the killing of tigress Sakhi, had escaped on Wednesday while being brought to jail from court only to be caught by the army personnel within an hour.
The van in which the escort policemen were taking Salauddin to the jail hit against a speeding car at Rethibowli crossroads.
When the escort policemen got down to question the car driver, Salauddin jumped out of the van with handcuffs and fled. He scaled a fence and entered into the Asifnagar Cantonment area. A Quick Reaction Team of the Army spotted Salauddin and took him into custody. Later, he was handed over the Asifnagar police who booked a case under section 224 (resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) of IPC.
