Plea to reduce qualifying mark

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Self-Financing Rural Engineering College Managements' Association has urged the Government to reduce the qualifying mark in EAMCET-2005 from 48 to 40, as was done last year, to ensure that no seat will go vacant for want of qualified students.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the association said State students were migrating to States like TN and Karnataka where colleges were allowing students with 35 per cent marks at Intermediate level for admission to engineering courses.
