An evening of choral music

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Bangalore has a tradition of choral music and there are many choirs in the city that are keeping this tradition alive.

Well, looks like this one is going to be an "all-men" evening as far as the performers go.

Glorious is presenting a concert titled "Liza's song" on Sunday at the Guru Nanak Bhavan at 6.30 p.m. But this is not just another concert for entertainment's sake. Glorious has organised many concerts earlier to revive choral music.

This programme is being held for a noble cause: to raise funds for various activities of Liza's Home, a charitable organisation that provides special education and vocational training to children with disabilities. The organisation has expanded its programme to include mentally disabled children in and around Lingarajapuram. It also runs an old-age home and a day-care centre for pre-school children.

Five groups — Octet Cantabile Boys in Harmony from Chennai, Noel Opus from Madurai and East Parade Church Men, The Reverb Men and Glorious Male Voices, all from Bangalore — will render the songs.

Tickets are available at Supermarket, ELS, Pinnacle Books, Olive Branch, OM Books, Grace Gift Centre and Windchimes.
