NEW DELHI: The door to Delhi University colleges is still open, but only for those who missed a seat by a whisker in the first cut-off list. With most top colleges closing admission to their popular courses or reducing the cut-off by a mere 0.5 to one per cent, the second cut-off list released on Wednesday is unlikely to bring cheer to many. While admission to Science courses is still open in many colleges, Social Science and Commerce courses seem to have emerged favourites with many colleges closing admission in this section. With seats available in only five of the courses offered by it, Ramjas declared closure in 90 per cent of its courses, with even the remaining seeing only a marginal drop in the cut-off. Courses that are still open here include B.Com (Pass), Applied Life Sciences, Applied Physical Sciences and Political Science. Hindu College too closed most of its admission, but still has B.A. for 85.5 per cent, Economics (Honours) for 87.5 to 92.5 per cent and Political Science for 82.5- 86.5 per cent among some other subjects. At Lady Shri Ram, seats are still available in Psychology for 91per cent, Sociology for 89 per cent and Political Science for 85.5 per cent. Admission is also open in Sanskrit and Hindi. But students need not lose hope. Colleges like Hans Raj and Kirori Mal still have most of their courses open, Those looking at B.A can try Gargi with 76.5 per cent, Dyal Singh with 68 per cent, Deshbandhu with 67 per cent and Delhi College of Arts and Commerce with 65-76 per cent.
