Himachal power for Delhi

NEW DELHI: Himachal Pradesh, which has an allocation of 547 MW from the State-based 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydel power project, plans to sell 330 MW of its surplus power to Delhi and the neighbouring States of Punjab and Haryana.

Announcing this here on Wednesday, the State Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Principal Secretary (Power), Yogesh Khanna, said that Himachal Pradesh was in a position to supply 135 MW to Haryana and 97.5 MW each to Delhi and Punjab to meet the growing demand in the power-starved States.
