Good start for Prakash
NEW DELHI: Prakash Amritraj had a rousing start as he beat the 114th ranked top seed Giovanni Lapentti of Ecuador in the first round of $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament on grass in Forest Hills, New York.
Meanwhile, Karan Rastogi lost in the first round of both singles and doubles in the $10,000 ITF Futures tennis tournament at Williamsville.
Karan lost 2-6, 5-7 to qualifier Alex Clayton of the US in the singles.
Karan was seeded fourth with Philip Gubenco of Canada and the duo lost 6-3, 3-6, 4-6 to Hamid Mirzadeh and Jesse Witten of the US.
