ERODE: "There is a sharp rise in dog population in 7th ward," said the AIADMK councillor, S. Gopal, in the council meeting. "Hundreds of dogs are roaming the streets causing nuisance to the public." He wanted the municipal health officials to catch the dogs and kill them. The councillors urged the Chairman to take up the matter with the Government and also approach the Supreme Court. The Municipal Commissioner, Jayaraman, said that he would apprise the Government about the problem.
