`I FEEL SO LUCKY': Singer Shaan is happy the way things are going for him.
Talented singer Shantanu Mukherjee aka Shaan is all excited these days about his music in the upcoming movie "Marigold". Known for his songs "Tanha Dil" and "Musu Musu", the young singer considers himself lucky to have got an opportunity to sing English lines in "Marigold" and also because the film features Bollywood star Salman Khan in the leading role. In Delhi this week for a re-launch of the popular "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'' programme, he said: "I am really upbeat about `Marigold'. For this Indo-American venture I have sung numbers that were a mixture of English and Hindi. The film has excellent tracks." Asked whether doing music for Marigold was a challenging task, he said: "Yes, but I enjoyed it thoroughly". Besides Marigold, Shaan has also sung for Sohail Khan's upcoming film `Maine Pyaar Kyo Kiya' featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Even though he does not hail from the Hindi heartland, Shaan has succeeded in mastering the Urdu language. "The credit for my fluency in Urdu goes to my tutor Ghulam Mustafa Khan Sahib." Shaan strongly feels that budding singers who want to make a mark in Bollywood must rehearse thoroughly to improve their pronunciation and participate in popular musical programmes like "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa". "I had to struggle a lot to get a break in Hindi films, but now there is no dearth of opportunities. When I was offered an anchoring job in `Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' I immediately agreed to it. I am able to juggle between my commitment to Hindi films and the anchoring job with Zee Television entertainment show because I am good at time management. I have been anchoring the show for the past three years." -- Madhur Tankha
