Inter-school chess
CHENNAI: The Hercules Turbo Drive State-level inter-school children's chess tournament, to be held on July 9 and 10, is being jointly organised by St. John's IRS (Palanjur) and Tiruvallur DCA.
The tournament will be played under the FIDE rapid rule (30 minutes each) and will have nine rounds.
Prizes include cycles for the winners (under-8, 10, 12, 14 and 18 age groups) apart from the T.I. Rolling Trophy to the best performing school. The winners will receive the Kamalam John Samuel Memorial Rolling Trophy sponsored by J.C.D. Prabakaran.
Entry fee of Rs. 100 has to be paid before July 7 along with Rs. 50 as annual membership fee for TNSCA. Call S. Balaraman (98842-93065).
