Sania to hire `travelling' coach

Sports Reporter

HYDERABAD: Sania Mirza, fresh from her creditable outing against World No. 5 Svetlana Kuznestova in the second round of Wimbledon, said here she was not too worried about any aspect of her game. "I am enjoying my run at this level. It is only a question of time before I get things right," she said during a chat with The Hindu.

However, her father, Imran Mirza, feels that Sania's serve could be a major drawback, particularly in the Grand Slams where the margin of error is very small.

The Mirzas have hence decided to hire a travelling coach, John Ferrington of the U.S., who will also make an assessment on how much he can influence Sania's . "John was recommended by Mahesh Bhupathi and we have decided to try him out till the US Open. Before that Sania will also play in a few tournaments as a warm-up for the mega event where she will get a direct entry into the main draw," Mr. Mirza said.

On her Wimbledon outing, Sania said, "It was a great feeling to be there on Centre Court. I have a dream that one day I will be there on the centre court at Wimbledon on a second Saturday."
