NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has restrained the Special Cell of the Delhi police from chargesheeting "an alleged accused'' in an Arms Act case on a petition by the accused charging the Cell with implicating him in the case. Restraining the Cell from chargesheeting the petitioner, Mohammad Usman alias Hazi, Justice R.C. Jain also issued notices to Delhi's Police Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Special Cell, and other officials of the Cell seeking replies from them to the petition by July 15. Mr. Justice Jain also directed the Cell to file a status report on the progress of investigation in the case before the next date "Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vigilance) is directed to hold an inquiry into the allegations made in the petition and submit a report to the Court within four weeks,'' the order said. The Court directed the Cell not to chargesheet "the alleged accused'', Mohammad Usman, till the next date
