Flat burgled, foreign currency stolen

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Burglars on Wednesday struck at a flat in a posh apartment complex on Cunningham Road and stole foreign currency belonging to the former national badminton champion and India coach, Vimal Kumar.

Police said Vimal Kumar, who stays in a flat in the tenth floor of the apartment complex, had kept his belongings in his friend's flat in the eighth floor as his flat was being repaired.

On Wednesday afternoon, thieves broke open the locks of the eighth-floor flat and made away with U.S. dollars and Euros belonging to Vimal Kumar. On a complaint by Vimal Kumar, the High Grounds police have registered a case.
