TIRUMALA: The TTD has filed criminal cases against a revenue inspector, Chinnabba, and five other local shopkeepers for allegedly tempering the documents and securing the allotment of shops at Tirumala. It may be mentioned that, the TTD has been allotting the shops as an alternative benefit to the families who lost their properties under the land acquisition at Tirumala. Chinnabba, who retired on Thursday, June 30, allegedly entered into a nexus with some of the shop keepers and facilitated them in illegally securing the shops. With the scandal coming to light, the management has decided to freeze all the retirement benefits of the inspector apart from framing criminal charges against him besides initiating a departmental enquiry.
