Rallying against social evils

Students held aloft placards with messages on social concerns

CHENNAI: The members of the State Bank Retired and Serving Employees' Forum took out a rally on Friday to generate public awareness on social evils.

Around 500 students from the P.S. Higher Secondary School, P.S. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Lady Sivasamy Girls Higher Secondary School, Sivaswamy Kalalaya Senior Secondary School, Sai Vidyalaya Matriculation School formed a human chain on Friday between P.S. High School on R.K. Mutt Road up to Luz Corner.

The students held aloft placards with messages on social concerns such as AIDS, eve-teasing, obscene ads, posters, films, television advertisements, film songs that portray women in a bad light and kindle baser instincts among youth.
