Four deaths due to leptospirosis

KOCHI: Four persons have died due to leptospirosis this year, of which two cases were reported in June after the onset of the monsoon. Forty-five cases have been reported since January, of which 18 were reported last month. One case was reported on Friday. According to the District Medical Officer, 10 per cent of the leptospirosis cases throughout the State had resulted in death. Thirty-two deaths have been reported Statewide.
