Not worth the wait

Nireekshana (Telugu)

Cast: Aryan Rajesh, Sridevi, Nagababu, Rajesh, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Ali, Sivareddy and Tanikella Bharani

Director: Ramesh Varma

New director Ramesh Varma, aside from directing the film `Nireekshana,' has also provided the story, screenplay as well as dialogues for the movie. However, the story in itself is insipid, the dialogues are unimpressive and the poor screenplay adds to its baggage of woes.

Anu (Sridevi) is the daughter of a millionaire, Sarath (Nagababu), who dotes on her and treats her as his friend. In college, Anu's classmate, Monika (Jyothi), cracks a practical joke at the expense of someone, which irks Anu. She slaps her and warns her not to play such tricks on innocent people. Livid over Anu's warning, Monika decides to teach her a lesson.

With the help of some of her friends (Siva Reddy, Ali etc) she makes Sarath believe that his daughter is in love with someone. Presuming that Anu is going too far, Sarath locks her in a remote farmhouse.

Ravindra (Aryan Rajesh), an idler, in a bid to escape from the police reaches the same farmhouse and believes that Anu is mad. After sometime, he leaves the place only to find an advertisement given by her father that Anu is missing and an announcement of a reward for Rs 5 lakhs for whoever finds her. Ravindra wants to cash in on the opportunity and takes the help of his friend (Rajesh) and tells him to contact her father and demand Rs 25 lakhs! Why does Sarath give an advertisement, what happens at the farmhouse forms part of the remaining film.

The film can neither be called a love story nor an action movie. Moreover, the hero acts like a villain. Though there are several characters , most of them have sketchy roles.
