"Government responsible for mess in entrance test"

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The State Government is fully responsible for the mess created in professional colleges' admission in the State, said the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president, G.K.Vasan, here on Tuesday.

Talking to newsmen, Mr.Vasan said the view of the party as well as other constituents of the Democratic Progressive Alliance was not to have common entrance test for admission to professional colleges.

They felt that there was no need for two examinations to test the competence of students and demanded scrapping of the CET.

The Government cancelled the entrance test from this academic year after conducting the same. This had created confusion among students, and the Government alone was responsible for this. The Government's failure to act with a long- term perspective would affect the future of the students, he added.
