A ray of hope for Arkavathy site applicants

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, told the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday that he will consult the Law Department to get the stay vacated with regard to allotment of sites in the Arkavathy Layout.

Responding to V. Somanna (Congress) during Question Hour, the Chief Minister said the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) will make allotments, depending on the outcome of the case. He said the BDA had received 2,35,002 applications and Rs. 954.27 crores as deposits. It had refunded the deposits of 2,15,002 applicants.

Roshan Baig (Congress) said the Government should come out with a White Paper on de-notification of lands and that it should acquire those lands to complete the allotment process.
